From the President (1997)
Ian Whittle (63), President.

Activities run through the School or independently by Old Boys contribute enormously to the success of our Association. I would like to publicly thank those Old Boys who have been keenly involved in organising reunion dinners both in Brisbane and around the country — Graeme Macnish in Perth, Don Chisholm and Peter Gasteen in Adelaide, Bruce Gibson in Melbourne, John Flutter in Canberra, Greg Story and Don Gough in Sydney, Alan McDonald in Cairns and Peter Buckley in Darwin — for the considerable time and care they have expended over the last few years to foster the Grammar spirit among far-flung fellow Old Boys.

While thanking individuals, I must make special mention of Denise Telfer and her husband Greg: Denise is a great asset to the Association, her organisational skills contributing to its efficiency over the years, while Greg has done much to see to the successful printing of Old School Ties and the facilitation of the 1997 Brisbane OBA Dinner. On behalf of the Executive, I wish you well and look forward to the continued growth of the Association as we approach our Centenary Year.
