The Annual Reunion Dinner was held on 26 August at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre with 320 Old Boys in attendance. Throughout the night Old Boy Alec Evans '57 was honoured with a tribute and recognised for his dedication to the School as a teacher and sports master.

As well as his dedication to the School, Evans made an invaluable contribution to the game of rugby. Before going on to coach the Welsh team at the 1995 World Cup and Australia's assistant coach in their famous 1984 Grand Slam tour, he was a renowned player for Queensland for more than a decade from the late 1950s. His contributions to the sport are recognised annually with the awarding of the Alec Evans Medal to the Queensland Premier Rugby Player of the Year.

In 2010 Evans was honoured with a Queensland Service to Sport Award for his contribution to the game of rugby. In October 2016, Evans was recognised for his outstanding contribution to Australian rugby with the Joe French Award.
