The 1906 School Magazine

The Magazine is about to enter upon its eighth year of publication, but, considering its comparative youthfulness, we think we may flatter ourselves that it has achieved more than a reasonable amount of success. All that is now wanting to place it in the front rank of school journals is a little more enthusiasm among the fellows who attend the school, but even this seems to be gradually coming.

Last year was a particularly successful one, and much of the success is due to the ability and keenness of our late Editor Kiernan, who, many of our readers will be sorry to hear, has been forced to resign his editorial position, as he is studying very hard for the next Sydney Senior Examination.

We have not very much to comment upon in this number, as is generally the case during the first quarter of the year. The only radical change in the arrangement of the School is the retirement of Mr. Roe from his position of House Master, a change which was naturally regretted by many of the boarders. However, Mr. Bousfield has taken up that position, and we wish him every success while he is in charge of the Boarding House.

The President of the Old Boys' Association for 1905–06 and 1906–07 was Mr. C. W. Costin (who chaired the Association's meetings, including the discussion of its rules). The Association continued its reunions, sports and support of the School.
