With the current restructuring of the OBA under the stewardship of the President, Ian Whittle, and his Council, many new changes occurred for the Association during 1995. First and foremost is the production of a quarterly magazine entitled Old School Ties, circulated to all subscribers. There will no longer be an extensive Old Boys' section in the annual School Magazine — all matters previously covered by that section will now be published in Old School Ties. As the President wrote in the inaugural edition, the initiatives are "designed to underpin the synergy between the Association and the School … look forward to the Association accepting a more supportive role for the School, whilst the School … will benefit from stronger ties with its Old Boys and School Family Members."

(Because of this change, no full President's Annual Report appears in the 1995 School Magazine; the President is Ian Whittle '63.)

We are beginning yet another year in the long history of the School. The Commemoration Service in the Great Hall provided us with truly outstanding performances by the school orchestra and choir — examples of what may be achieved by concerted team effort, a team that includes the teachers and coaches who put in endless commitment, time and effort. I would urge you all to make the most of your limited time at Grammar. Rarely in life do you get a second chance, and we must all strive to finish school without regrets. To quote from the famous film "Dead Poets' Society", Robin Williams' immortal words, "Seize the Day", should constantly be in our minds. I urge you to attend school functions — sport, music, clubs — get involved in school life and make it a great year for Grammar.
